The Planets

There are nine planets in our Solar System and they all go around the Sun which is a star. In order from the Sun, they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. From space, our Solar System would look like this picture.

How to Remember the Order of the Planets

It will be easy for you to remember the correct order of the nine planets of our Solar System if you remember the following sentence.

The first letter of each word in this sentence is the same as the first letter of each planet of the Solar System. So this sentence will help you to remember M V E M J S U N P and remembering M V E M J S U N P will help you to remember Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
